"Al Maghrib" Special edition. Commemoration of the 40th day after the loss of Said Hajji, sixth year - No. 937 April 29, 1942
In a very short period of time, opinions are developed, plans are established, associations are formed, hopes are aroused, one builds foundations and climbs flanges atop buildings man has built. He empties his quiver of ideas using all his grey cells and they emerge from nothingness to see the light of day through the use of talents that life endowed him with.
In a very short period of time, ideas fade, principles fall into obsolescence, organizations disappear, dreams are broken, one razes to the ground fortresses and buildings man has built by expending efforts to reflect and to utilize the resources of a creative mind to establish foundations on a solid basis.
And thus it was to be Said's tragic destiny
To lie amid the dead and the spirits of nobility.
Our eyes, brimful with tears, that is why
Old and young, pained souls, together cry.
Man can have fleeting hope, an obscure dream, long standing wishes, a wily temperament, an awakened mind. He may not know what to do in life and life may pause before letting him join others. He might never reach maturity and be so blind that he thinks he sees light everywhere. He may be hardhearted but aspires to no depravity. He might be simpleminded such that he believes his illusions. His logic might be so weak so as to strengthen his imagined fantasies. He will be therefore miserable; to fail where he had wished for success and to suffer a blackout of all those dreams the creative power of his imagination had sparkled for him.
Never was Said marked by ambiguity
Nor changed views during a catastrophe
Never was he deprived of the vagaries of fate
Nor allowed to fend off the harm of dire spate.
And thus it was to be Said's tragic destiny
To lie amid the dead and the spirits of nobility.
Our eyes, brimful with tears, that is why
Old and young, pained souls, together cry.
His was a brilliant light of veracity
Exposing all traps hiding with tenacity.
A man of experience, self-confident
And very skillful while also prudent.
And thus it was to be Said's tragic destiny
To lie amid the dead and the spirits of nobility.
Our eyes, brimful with tears, that is why
Old and young, pained souls, together cry.
The press was a vow, one we could hardly believe
But Said, his cup full of vim, a press he did achieve.
Was this not a dream to make such a reality
Which he fulfilled by working so unremittingly?
A dream under a sail we yearned to see elevated
But he alone, to snap it up, was verily motivated.
This was a risky and difficult door to access
And yet Said took on this risk with success.
By leveraging us, counting on our loyalty,
On our passionate zeal, to cull the bounty.
To form a family, a team, is not at all trivial
We alternated from anchor to mere disciple.
Said took on the torch and was endowed with courage both of which shined on all that he hoped for.
Said had to confront many obstacles and circumstances and put all his energy to overcome them to give life to all his hopes.
Said had to struggle against winds and tides and faced all manner of difficulties which by dint of the strength of his soul and conscience allowed him to keep in check all the bad influences that could harm what he loved and hoped for.
And thus it was to be Said's tragic destiny
To lie amid the dead and the spirits of nobility.
Our eyes, brimful with tears, that is why
Old and young, pained souls, together cry.
