Greetings my brother.
I have received your first and second letters and had the pleasure to learn that your two brothers have returned safely and soundly to our country.
With regards to the support of our comrades here, a petition was sent via the Spanish post office stamped from Tetouan and sealed with wax like a document from the Royal Makhzen.
We sent it to the "Al Hayat" (Life) newspaper and it was published. We will be sending a letter with an attached petition in support (of our friends) to the Minister of Foreign Affairs during the course of next week.
Rumors circulating about it being sent from Rabat are totally baseless.
As for my telegram, I was astonished that you did not understand it (especially) given the current circumstances. I had asked you to provide me with detailed information with regards to the grievances and to do so urgently. Here is all that was contained in the telegram:
The news we receive from you hardly satisfies our reading audience.
For example we would like to publish (all) telegrams of support.
We would like to know the public reaction after presenting them with the list of grievances.
What are people saying in the streets?
Such are the many questions that no one had the presence of mind to convey back to us in writing. Meanwhile I consider this a duty that all persons who belong to a common political movement with equal rights must be committed to.
As for the leaflets, I will leave it to you to make the decision on how to deal with them appropriately. However I wish to insist on receiving the proceeds of the sale of my book, "Les Conseils" (Advice). I ask you to send me the total amount because I will need to cover the costs (incurred) to prepare the book.
Lastly please understand that I have not taken any effort to make our grievances known (to others). I invite you to read what I wrote on this matter in the newspaper "Al Hayat."
